In the yellow buses, which are a mean to travel around the island, there is no "small-button-to-push-to-ask-the-driver-to-stop-to-the-next-bus-stop". So, if you want the bus to stop, you have to clap your hands.
At first, I didn't know that. I was in a bus, when a man not far from me clapped his hand very loudly. I thought : "oh, this is a strange behaviour... To suddenly clap his hands... But why not, spontaneity is sometimes a good thing. He just listened to his present desire !".
He went out of the bus on the next stop.
He went out of the bus on the next stop.
Later on, another person handclapped. I thought : "Weird... If this person get out to the next stop, I will have understood the reason of such a behaviour". And the person went out. I had my explanation.
I did not try myself, I always wait (and hope) that somebody get out at the next stop as me, and therefore clap hands before I do it. It's stupid, I know, but I don't dare yet...
